Yesterday evening I went to see Lebensraum, by Jakob Ahlbom, at the Bellevue Theatre... totally and utterly brilliantly amazingly hysterically mindblowingly clever :-) Mime, acrobatics and live music brought to the stage.

After almost 7 months...

Well, after almost 7 months of not having a cigarette, yesterday evening I spend a few hours in a bar with some friends where smoking is allowed. The smoke certainly began to get to me. My eyes started to feel itchy and when I left the bar I felt that I really stunk of smoke and had been in an unclean environment. I then had a 10 minute walk in the fresh air to reach the theatre and I am curious as to whether people sitting in their seats around me could smell the smoke.

'The proof of the pudding is in the eating' as they say. Although this wasn't about testing something that I had baked. What would happen if I smoked a cigarette after all this time? There was one left in a cupboard in the kitchen so I will admit to trying it. Guiltily I lit it. And I smoked it. No I didn't enjoy it. The dizziness, the nasty burning after taste and quite frankly the smell around me is quite repulsive. The sooner that smell goes then the better. Even though I have opened the windows.

Throwing the guilty feeling away, I can honestly say a resounding "NO" to the answer to the question, "are you going to start smoking again"?

....nearly 3 hours later and the after taste is still lingering and the nauseous feeling is still there. YUK!!!!

My ears are alive with the sound of ......

and thankfully, it's not the voices of imaginary friends.

... on a good day it sounds like gas escaping from an unlit gas ring on a cooker. On a bad day the sound is like there is a fax machine in my head and someone, maybe a martian, is trying to send a fax to my head.
